Redesigning Landing Page Website for a leading NY Agency
UI UX Designer

Summary & Context
DockYard is a US-based digital product and engineering consultancy renowned for architecting mission-critical web applications for Fortune 500 enterprises, including Netflix, Apple, Nasdaq, Adobe, and McGraw Hill.
Despite building software at the highest tier of engineering excellence, DockYard’s digital presence had not seen a major structural redesign since 2012. The legacy website suffered from:
- •Outdated Visual Positioning:
An aesthetic reflecting the early 2010s that failed to represent the modern, enterprise-grade consultancy they had grown into. - •Invisible Portfolio Impact:
Critical enterprise case studies and capabilities were buried under legacy page hierarchies. - •Conversion Friction:
No clear funnel to guide engineering leads, CTOs, and enterprise executives toward booking discovery calls.
Having previously designed successful R&D and open-source initiatives within their ecosystem, DockYard’s executive leadership brought me on as the lead designer to spearhead the complete overhaul of their flagship web presence from the ground up.
Information Architecture & UX Strategy
Collaborating directly with the CEO and CMO in weekly strategic review sessions, I restructured the entire site architecture around two high-stakes user journeys:
Challenge A: The High-Converting Enterprise Landing Page
The Problem: The homepage had to speak simultaneously to two distinct buyers: non-technical executives looking for business transformation, and technical CTOs/VPs evaluating full-stack engineering rigor.
The UX Solution: Architected a modular, scannable landing page layout. Introduced clear visual sections pairing high-level value propositions with technical proof points (Elixir, React, Ember, Cloud Architecture), leading naturally toward contextual CTAs that reduced inquiry friction.
Challenge B: Showcase Enterprise Proof (Case Study Overhaul)
The Problem: Enterprise clients need proof of reliability and architectural scale before signing major contracts. The previous site gave minimal real estate to recent high-impact client engagements.
The UX Solution: Designed rich, scannable case study templates that balanced narrative storytelling with hard engineering outcomes. Added structured visual callouts for technologies used, business results, and key delivery metrics.
Visual Craft, Design System & Collaboration
Clean, Modern Minimal Visual Language
Harmonizing Custom Art with Clean UI: DockYard had an illustrator creating bespoke artistic assets in parallel. I built the visual hierarchy, white-space cadence, and layout framework to ensure these custom illustrations felt naturally integrated rather than decorative noise.
Editorial Crispness: Transitioned the site from dated patterns to a clean, spacious, white-dominant modern aesthetic with sharp typography and high-contrast content blocks.
End-to-End Responsive Design System & Dev Handoff
As the solo designer across the entire design lifecycle, I established:
- •Atomic Component Library in Figma: Reusable cards, navigation headers, responsive grids, buttons, accordion elements, and case study modules.
- •Responsive Breakpoints: Fully articulated layouts across Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile views.
- •Production Guidelines & Dev Alignment: Partnered with the development team at the delivery stage—providing detailed component specs, layout behavior annotations, and running live Figma reviews to guarantee 1:1 design implementation fidelity.
Business Impact & Client Reception
Executive Alignment:
Delivered an end-to-end design system that met the strategic vision of both the CEO and CMO, moving from concept to production-ready handoff in a 6-month timeline.
Enterprise Pitch Confidence:
Equipped executive leadership and marketing teams with a modern, high-polish digital showcase that elevated company credibility during high-stakes sales conversations with Fortune 500 prospects.
Engagement Growth:
Restructured information pathways that increased time-on-page and created clear, actionable inbound inquiry paths across core consulting offerings.
